Who, I AM

Hello, my name is Amy Cabrera.

I am 19 years old, the youngest of three brothers. I was always happy to go to my art classes but my favorite although difficult class was always math.

In my free time I like to go for walks with my dog and see nature. At all family gatherings I was the person in charge of taking care of all the little cousins, and I was always very cautious with them and took care of everything they did.

From a very young age I told my mother that my dream was to take care of children. At the age of 15 I had the opportunity to take care of two of my cousins and two children of my parents’ friends during the summer holidays. In high school I was in charge of helping all the children in grades younger than me with learning problems.

In my grades I helped the teachers translate for children who did not speak English, this is because I speak English and Spanish. During my last 3 years of study I decided to learn sign language to be able to help one of my classmates. Since then I have been preparing to be able to help and care for any child who needs it. I hope that these experiences will help me to also help in the growth of the boy/girl.
